Samuel Eto'o supports Fifa's '48 countries World Cup 2016 project' in an emotional way

While FIFA President Gianni Infantino confirmed that the track leading to a 48-team World Cup f
or 2026 was seriously
considered, Samuel Eto'o said he"personally support" this project. The 35-year-old Cameroonian
striker has even dedicated his honorary trophy, presented at the Globe Soccer Awards in Dubai, to this cause:
"Mr. Gianni Infantino, this trophy is for the creation of a World Cup to 48 countries. Do it for the poor, for those
who do not have all the time the chance to compete in a World Cup. Do it! We support you, I support you personally.
Because you will give Africa the opportunity to play a World Cup. "
These statements echo those of David Trezeguet, who indulged in Le Parisien on Wednesday: "The Fifa project is
part of a concern for fairness. It is good to allow some small emerging countries and their players to qualify for the most
prestigious of the competitions. A World Cup, there is nothing more beautiful, "explained the former striker of the Blues,
39 years (71 selections, 34 goals).
