Seven Cameroonian footballers refuse to join the CAN 2017 selection. Find reasons here!

1- André Onana (Ajax from Amsterdam): His club with Dutch national team (Piet KRUL) goalkeeper
André Onana prefers to decline the offer of Cameroon and stay in the club to preserve his place.

2 - Guy Roland Ndy Assembe (Nancy: His contract with Nancy expires in June 2017. Ndy Assembe
therefore prefers to remain in the club and to preserve his place of incumbency to negotiate at the
appropriate time, in a position of strength, a new contract .

3- Joël Matip (Liverpool): He does not want to play with the Indomitable Lions for the moment,
due to a bad experience with the previous technical staff.

4- Allan Nyom (West Bromwich): He prefers to stay in the club to keep his place.

5- Maxime Poundje (Bordeaux): He chose to play for France.

6- André Zambo Anguissa (Olympique Marseille): He prefers to remain in the club and to preserve
his place of titular.

7- Ibrahim Amadou (Lille OSC): He prefers to stay in the club preserving his place of titular.

As can be seen, these players want to privilege their personal interest to the detriment of the national
selection. The Cameroon Football Federation reserves the right to take actions against these players in accordance with FIFA regulations.

However, the national coach wants to reassure the opinion that he will put in place the best team
possible with players motivated and determined to defend the colors of Cameroon. The list of 23
players selected for CAN 2017 as well as the preparation program will be made public as soon as
 possible.
