At least 30 members of a local football team in Uganda and their supporters drowned




 At least 30 members of a local football team and their supporters drowned on Sunday after their boat capsized on Lake Alberta in western Uganda.
Ugandan police confirmed the accident on Monday to AFP indicating that the victims from the Kaweibanda village in the Buliisa district were heading to the neighboring district of Hoima for a friendly match.

What you may not know about Friendly matches in football.



Only sysysblog can give you these details that look little but can make you look clueless in a football ambiance. Some people think friendly matches between national teams are just there to boost the strength of the teams involved or to measure their strength and help them improve on weaknesses. Though true, the one thing that people often leave out is the fact that it is involved in the formula to calculate Fifa World Rankings and other continental rankings. It's variable in the formula for calculating points for the world ranking is (I) which is how important the match was (was it a friendly to the world cup)
Today we only looked at the importance of friendly matches in the formula for rankings. Therefore every friendly match is important to be a win.  Here is the Formula for Fifa rankings

FIFA World football ranking for December 2016: Cameroon's dramatic failure over the past 10 years


Who says Cameroon has not lost its days of Glory when it comes to football? The December 2016 FIFA Ranking released placed Cameroon at the 65th position. I will cut straight to the chase and give you a clue of what Cameroon Football was 10 years ago.
Cameroon was ranked 16th, first African team, In December 2005, it was ranked the 23rd still first African country.
Then in 2006, Cameroon improved to the 15th position but this time after Nigeria that came first in Africa.
